Traditional Period Stair

This beautiful Moonee Ponds home is has a traditional style stair with Spotted Gum timber and steel balustrading. The staircase has a very traditional detail. With cut strings, full bullnose nosing, return, full tread brackets and fluted posts with match newel tops. The bottom flight has a custom built bullnose step. Every fourth baluster there are two square ‘knuckles’, making this stair slightly different from others like it. The owners have utilised the space underneath the stair and added a little enclosed room, most likely for storage.

Specifications: Closed stair, Closed wall strings, Cut outer strings with scotia mould, Treads and risers with Projection to front and outer string. The treads have a bullnose nosing. The Material used: Strings ex 38mm Spotted Gum; Treads ex 38mm Spotted Gum,

Balustrade Material:

Specifications: Selected individual Square steel balusters with a feature every fourth. Finished in Black. Ex 38mm capping and fascia. Stair posts Ex 100x10mm Fluted with cap, Handrails ex 100x75mm Spotted Gum; Balusters 16mm Black steel.
