Open Cut String Stair in Spotted Gum

This modern style renovation to a 1960’s home in the Melbourne suburb of Mitcham required a staircase that was going to tie into the other modern features of the home. The stair design and layout was selected by the owner and it is an open stair with cut strings. The thickness of the treads and winders are downsized to better match the tightness of the stairwell, with riser reducer strips being utilised. The stair and Rectangle profile handrail are made out of Spotted Gum and the balustrading is stainless steel tubing. Drop down intersecting handrail newel posts are used at the commencement of the flight to give this modern styled staircase uniformity.Stair Material:
