This modern floating stair uses the centre carriage string design made from American Oak with a dark stain. It is a structural feat with the whole staircase being made from timber which comfortably supports the glass and stainless steel balustrading that adorns it. A design masterpiece conceptualised in collaboration with the client, and executed with absolute skill and precision by Signature Stairs. Highlights of this staircase design are the mitred risers to avoid having any visible end-grain anterior to the boxed centre carriage string, the mitre joined landings, conceal visible fixings and a layout designed symmetrically to marry in neatly within the stairwell space. Because of the detail and the structural complexity this staircase was awarded finalist in the 2013 Australia Timber Design Awards. Balustrade Material:
