Luxury Home Geometric Stair

This stairwell on this existing stairwell was challenging in view of  the clients design brief for the staircase. The stairwell had many factors that made this project unique. The contributing factors were the high ceiling height, the starting and end point of the staircase and the position of the doorway to the ground floor bathroom.  The main challenge in the design of this stair was making it flow seamlessly between the ground and first floors, whilst including a landing to meet the building code requirements that were dictated by a high floor to floor height. We added a double bullnose step to the stair to create an open entrance to the flight. Once designed, the execution of the installation was done to the highest level, doing justice to this luxury home in Kew. The strings were cranked to give the structural strength and the landings were edged with a rebated nosing to match the tread detail and to finish flush with the timber flooring. The American Oak timber has been stained. Please note that the wrought iron balustrading was by supplied by another company.
