This is a spectacular looking“L” shaped staircase in the ‘classic’ style, with wrought-iron lacework and continuous timber handrails. The timber is back-sawn American Oak with an exposed grain. Some features of the staircase are the handcrafted scroll at the commencement of the handrail, and handcrafted handrail wreaths at the change in directions until it terminates at the wall on the first floor. The strings of the staircase have been painted white. Together with the decorative wrought-iron lacework that has a powder-coated finish, the polished timber steps and handrail, the different elements and finishes of the staircase are a successful combination enhancing the ‘mood’ in this section of the Mount Waverley home. Also decorative panelling was installed to the full extremity of the staircase flights, and was painted, this greatly enhancing the ‘classic’ feel of the staircase. Please note that the wrought-iron lacework was crafted by another company.
